The Eden Prairie Historical Society Museum will be open from 1-3 PM on Monday, April 4, from 1-3 PM. Normal museum hours are 2-5 PM on Mondays and will resume on April 11. The museum is located at 8080 Mitchell Road-In the lower section of the Eden Prairie City Hall.
The first Eden Prairie history website was created by Ernie Schuldheiss, and we are honored to begin this website journey dedicating the site to the memory of our wonderful friend Ernie.
Ernie came to Eden Prairie in 1957, and his deep love for the community began immediately. His family's home was on the east side of Riley Lake next to what is now the Riley-Jacques Park.
Ernie graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 1966 as a great schoolmate and an outstanding athlete.
Ernie had a passion for history. Not only for Eden Prairie, but for the surrounding communities as well. His in-home office walls were lined floor to ceiling with microfilm of historical information he had tirelessly collated. Eden Prairie pioneer family and friends speak with deep appreciation of Ernie's historical research. When Ernie called to share historical information with them, they were often times unaware of many of the past events and happenings of their own families.
Most importantly, Ernie was a true friend to all who knew him. To that memory, this website is dedicated to the memory of Ernie Schuldheiss.
With fond memories,
The Historical Society Board
